For the Fallout 3 Ultimate Edition, I used to launch my game using FOMM (fallout mod manager). It basically deactivates the DLCs that you dont want. For NV Ultimate edition, I just played along with everything loaded at all times. All the extra guns and quests were not a big problem for me. I checked online to confirm which quests were for DLC Each DLC seems to strive on a key strength: Dead Money had the characters. Honest Hearts had the location. Old World Blues had the humor. Lonesome Road had the story. Each one deserves a playthrough, if only just one, so that everyone can experience the best of Fallout NV in their more concentrated states. Old World Blues adds a new map to explore. It's also got a large variety of hard level creatures. Best to save it for later on. Around level 20 or so.
