Posted February 6, 2013. Check the fuel filter seal, they're supposed to be replaced when the fuel filter is swapped on a major service but sometimes it doesn't get done. An old seal will be less pliant and tend to not re-seat properly resulting in air being sucked into the system and causing fuelling problems. Quote.
Hello dear fellows, I have an problem with my Ford Mondeo MK4 2.0 Tdci. When I start a car it turns on normally. I drive it for 20min or so and than stop an car. Next time when I try to start a car it hardly turn on. It is cranking in pretty fast pace but it hardly starts. When it starts in runs normally, it doesnt have any particilar problem.
I have the following problem with my Mondeo: ONLY and ONLY in 2nd gear when driving at constant speed the car accelerates by itself for 1 or 2 seconds every 3 or 4 seconds. So it is absolutely impossible to drive it with constant speed in the second gear.
The car is a Ford Mondeo 1.6 Edge on a 57 plate. I asked my neighbour who works for the AA and he tested the car with a reader which came up with fault code P0460 something to do with the fuel level sensor. I do not know where this part is on the car (thought it was under the back seats) or how this problem can be resolved. Can you help please?
HI. Don't think running fuel low makes any difference on the injectors, they are a common fault and going on my experience and other post's you are looking at between 70 - 100k, although there was someone who posted as having 1 on 128k and already done 2 sets of injectors. - look out for grey / white smoke indicating poorly / un-burnt diesel.

Hi, i have a 2006 Mondeo 2.0 tdci, unfortunately its developed a problem, at first the car would just cut out under load or every so often whenever it feels like it. If you pull over turn ignition off and re start her your away again, but now it will not start from cold (it starts straight away with a tow) once started it fine until the engine

Ford Year: 2006. Staffordshire. Posted August 14, 2012. ford did release a TSB (TSB no. 34/2006) about updateing the PCM with the latest software to cure a hot start problem and this may be the problem, a pcm updatr should not effect the injectors,it could also be the flywheel breaking down putting iron filings onto the crank sensor so remove
Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi engine failure - cheddar : I could say that my TDCi has done 106k etc etc though there is no point because all makes/models suffer occasional untypical issues. That being said I have heard of a TDCi bending a rod due to ECU / injector problems, perhaps this was a similar case.
The only thing wrong with the Ford/PSA unit is that it is belt cam increasing running costs, the fact is both the Ford/Jag and Ford/PSA units are vastly more refined than any VW/Audi 4 cyl diesel including the 2.0 as well as being just as efficient and, it seems, no less reliable.
